A Q Summit was recently hosted by Quantum Global Data Center (QGDC) in collaboration with Huawei. Chinese technology company. The event brought together the technology leaders, government officials, banking executives, and stakeholders. The main idea was to discuss the future of Pakistan’s digital infrastructure.

In the modern world, where the economies across the globe are being affected by technological developments, the conference gave people an opportunity to understand how important it is to build an environment that fosters innovation and growth. The conference provided a platform where plans were made concerning data centers, artificial intelligence, and technology development.

We need to build infrastructure to support innovation and economic growth through advancement. The country aims to develop a world-class technology ecosystem, with data centers and artificial intelligence, which will help drive growth and technological advancement.

Data: The Most Valuable Asset of the Digital Age

A central takeaway during the summit came from Mr. Ali Rashid. He described data as the most valuable resource in today’s world and emphasized that in the modern economy, data drives businesses, governments, financial institutions, and emerging technologies like AI.

By making a comparison between traditional industries and digital infrastructure, his focus was on “data centers as the factories of the digital age”. Just like factories that power industrial growth, data centers power cloud computing, digital services, and artificial intelligence.

Ali Rashid highlighted the contributions being made by the Quantum Global Data Center in partnership with Huawei. The construction of the data center in Pakistan would contribute to strengthening the digital infrastructure as well as future technologies. In order to boost Pakistan’s digital infrastructure, Quantum Global Data Center, in collaboration with Huawei, is making efforts for this.

The 60-Megawatt Vision and the Triple Helix Framework

Presenting a bigger picture behind the initiative, Mr. Ahmer presented a vision of the largest technology infrastructure initiatives in Pakistan, a 60-megawatt technology program.

The central element of this vision was the Triple Helix Framework. It’s a model that is based on collaboration between the government, academia, and industry.

The initiative goes beyond building physical infrastructure. It seeks to establish a complete technology ecosystem capable of fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and long-term economic development.

Recognition from the Financial Sector

“Digital infrastructure is an important factor,” said National Bank of Pakistan President and CEO Mr. Rehmat Hasnia. He welcomes the initiative of Q Summit to help build data centers in the country.

His remarks reflected the growing recognition that reliable and secure digital infrastructure is becoming increasingly important for the banking sector and the broader economy. As financial services continue to digitize, robust data infrastructure will play a critical role in ensuring efficiency, security, and competitiveness.

Huawei’s Commitment to Innovation

Representing Huawei Pakistan, Ahmed Bilal Masood shared insights into Huawei’s global operations and commitment to research and development.

Moreover, he highlighted that the company makes about $130 billion annually, investing nearly 30% of the money into R&D work. Yet another aspect that he discussed was the extensive spread of Huawei in Pakistan, along with the numerous customers the company has in the country.

The strategy used by the company reflects its commitment to innovation as an essential component of future success.

Artificial Intelligence: A Necessity, Not an Option

Artificial intelligence emerged as one of the most important themes of the summit. Speaking about the future of technology, Mr. Ali Rashid emphasized that AI is no longer optional; it is a necessity.

As government bodies and organizations continue to make use of data-driven strategies in their decision-making processes, it can be stated that AI could well become an essential source of productivity and innovation in the economy of tomorrow. This, however, will require significant computing power and data security measures.

Learning from Huawei’s Journey

The summit also looked at the growth of Huawei as a multinational technology firm. This involved examining how the firm has been able to create its own technological ecosystem through continuous research and innovation.

The experience of the company provided insight into how firms can adapt to changing market dynamics through the continuous development of technologies.
