Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has conducted an extensive Quality of Service (QoS) survey in the fourth quarter of 2025 to identify the best mobile network providers in Azad Jammu & Kashmir. The QoS survey was carried out on major telecom companies operating in AJK, such as Jazz, Zong, Ufone, Telenor, and SCOM, through performance tests.

A total of 7,616 tests for voice and SMS services and 9,432 broadband data samples were analyzed to assess the service quality offered by telecom operators in different cities of AJK.

Evaluation Criteria for Survey

Various indicators such as:

  • Coverage of mobile networks and signal strength
  • Availability of 4G/LTE services
  • Speed of Internet downloading and uploading
  • Latency and browsing experience
  • Quality of Voice calls (CSSR, CCR, MOS, and other factors)
  • Performance of SMS delivery
  • Loading time of the webpage

Results of Mobile Network Coverage in AJK

  • SCOM performed better in overall coverage in AJK.
  • Ufone and Zong offered excellent 4G network coverage in most areas under survey.
  • Inconsistencies occurred in Jazz and Telenor, particularly in hilly areas such as Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot.

Results of Mobile Broadband Performance

  • Latency and User Experience
  • Ufone was the winner in terms of latency, providing smooth browsing experiences.
  • In some areas, Zong and Jazz had latency issues, making them less suitable for live browsing and streaming.

Voice Call and Text Messaging (SMS)

  • Ufone and Telenor were top performers in voice calls, with maximum success rates.
  • Zong and Jazz were second-best in voice calls.
