Government to Establish 10 IT Parks Nationwide in 2025

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced plans to establish ten software technology parks across Pakistan in 2025. During a review meeting of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications in Islamabad, it was revealed that alongside the technology parks, the government will also set up 100 e-Rozgar Centers next year.

The meeting highlighted that the IT Park in Islamabad, developed with South Korean collaboration, will be completed by next year. Additionally, another IT Park will be constructed in Karachi, also with South Korean support, and is expected to be finished by 2027.

In a prior meeting, the Prime Minister urged authorities to prioritize actions to boost the country’s IT exports, emphasizing Pakistan’s significant potential in the information technology sector. He also directed the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to ensure that IT exporters face no obstacles from banks regarding debit card and foreign currency issues.

These initiatives aim to fully exploit Pakistan’s IT capabilities and support the growth of the sector.
