Karachi has launched a digital domicile system aimed at simplifying the application process for citizens. This initiative drastically cuts down the time needed to acquire a domicile to just two days, with a fee of Rs 660. Inaugurated at the Korangi Deputy Commissioner Office, Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hassan Naqvi, announced plans to introduce home delivery of domiciles across the city.

Previously, the process was time-consuming and prone to corruption. The new system reduces the required documentation from 15 to just seven items. To further ensure authenticity, a QR code verification system has been integrated to combat counterfeit documents. This initiative marks a major step forward in improving public service efficiency and transparency, particularly benefiting students and residents across Karachi.

Deputy Commissioner of Korangi, Jawad Muzaffar, emphasized that the changes will provide significant relief to citizens. Overall, this effort reflects the government’s focus on enhancing administrative processes and governance in the city.
