Microsoft and HEC Collaborate to Empower Future Tech Leaders

On May 30, 2024, Microsoft Pakistan hosted “Bridging the Academia-Industry Gap” at the HEC Headquarters in Islamabad. The event aimed to enhance collaboration between academia and industry, equipping graduates with essential modern workplace skills. Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum from the Higher Education Commission and Jaye Richards Hill from Microsoft emphasized technology’s role in preparing students for future jobs.

 

Jibran Jamshad presented Microsoft’s latest AI tools, noting a 75% increase in AI use among knowledge workers. The event also showcased projects from the Imagine Cup and included speeches from HEC Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed and Chief Guest Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, who stressed the importance of tech skills for Pakistan’s youth. The event concluded with the launch of Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Learn for Educators, and the Microsoft for Startups – Founders Hub, reinforcing Microsoft’s commitment to supporting Pakistani academic institutions and future tech leaders.
