Microsoft’s Co-Founder Receives “Hilal-e-Pakistan” Civilian Award

President Dr Arif Alvi awarded Bill Gates, Co-Chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the ‘Hilal-e-Pakistan’ award on Thursday in recognition of his support for the health care and eradication of poverty in Pakistan. 

According to reports, Bill Gates received the honor today at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad during a special investiture ceremony. The event was attended by federal ministers, prominent officials, and members of the diplomatic corps.

During the discussion, Bill Gates praised Pakistan’s efforts to eradicate polio, stating that the rate of polio in Pakistan has been zero to none for over a year as a result of polio workers’ efforts and parents’ cooperation.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will continue to work with Pakistan.
