Bridging Education and Employment

Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has also implemented a National Skill Competency Test to increase the links between university education and needs in the actual technology industry. The new standard test focuses on students in curriculum such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI and Data Science to assist in the provision of graduates who will be equipped with the skills required in current tech jobs.

How It Works and Who It’s For

The test will be given free to final semester learners and will be jointly accepted by the HEC, Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and P@SHA.Top students will get special certificates and will be visible in a national talent pool that is open to local and international employers, enhancing their opportunities to obtain internships, apprenticeships, and even foreign placements.

According to officials this drive is on top of a larger program to enhance employability and minimize the academic/ industry mismatch. The test can allow Pakistani graduates to be better competitors in international technology markets as skill sets and real industry standards are put at the forefront in this instance and the crunch will be on skilled labor markets.
