OpenAI has introduced SearchGPT, an AI-powered search engine that leverages the GPT-4 model to provide real-time information summaries and relevant links. Currently in a limited test phase with 10,000 users, individuals can sign up for a waitlist to gain access. SearchGPT features a ChatGPT-style interface where users can input queries, receiving summarized answers and links for more details.

 

Beyond basic search functions, SearchGPT understands the context of queries, allowing users to request additional information and explore visual results like images, videos, and graphs. OpenAI is partnering with news organizations such as The Wall Street Journal and The Associated Press to enhance its search database. Future plans include integrating SearchGPT into ChatGPT.

 

Additionally, OpenAI recently introduced GPT 4o mini, a cost-efficient model aimed at making generative AI more accessible and affordable. Users will be charged 15 cents for every million words inputted and 60 cents for every million words generated, reflecting a significant price reduction compared to previous models.
