Minister Fatima gave credit to Zong for boosting the country’s internet links, especially through the Connect 2030 plan. On top of that, she pointed out big wins like laying three fresh undersea cables in just twelve months. Besides this, cutting red tape on land access helped push forward fiber network growth faster.
Folks in Pakistan are almost ready for 5G, since nearly everyone – 98 outta 100 – is already online through mobile networks. She added that satellite web isn’t far behind – it’s being built right now, so people living way off the grid can get connected too.

China’s Pivotal Role Through CPEC and the Digital Corridor

The minister highlighted China’s key role via the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), saying it helped renew Pakistan’s infrastructure and boost its economy using almost $60 billion in funding. While talking about progress, she mentioned the next stage of CPEC has started, shifting focus toward building a digital network instead.
Working alongside firms like China Mobile is boosting Pakistan’s fiber-optic links, making internet speedier and more reliable. Thanks to better connections, upcoming tech advances can now grow, helping online services spread across regions while supporting smarter nationwide systems.

AI Cloud, Blockchain Verification, and Future Smart Cities

Zong’s push for smart cloud systems was called a big step forward for Pakistan’s tech growth. Still, officials stressed these AI-powered networks should launch around middle of next year – helping keep data at home while boosting online tools.
She liked the deal using blockchain to check degrees with the Higher Ed Council – said it’ll make life easier for schools and learners when it goes live.
Minister Fatima said that thanks to solid support from the PM along with the SIFC, Pakistan’s moving steadily ahead to develop smart cities while pushing for a completely linked digital vision by 2030 through Connect 2030.
