PTCL Group And IBM Collaborate to help business transformation using SAP RISE on Amazon Web Services.

With SAP at the center of their business, PTCL and Ufone started their corporate business transformation with the intention of fostering efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation.

Senior officials from the cooperating companies, including PTCL & Ufone, SAP, IBM, and Amazon Web Services, attended the signing event at GITEX Global 2022 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (AWS).

SAP S/4HANA, a top enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution that optimizes resource allocation, offers real-time data insights, streamlines business processes, and connects corporate information silos, is included in RISE with SAP.

IBM will implement the SAP product, leveraging AWS as the preferred cloud computing platform. The first telecoms company in Pakistan to make use of a mix of top SAP implementation services from IBM, Hyperscaler Cloud services from AWS, and an ERP solution from SAP will be PTCL & Ufone.

“Pakistan is one of the fastest growing markets for SAP’s enterprise and corporate solutions and the Telecommunication sector is swift to take the lead in embracing new ERP systems and adopting digital innovations through the Cloud,” said Saquib Ahmad, Country Managing Director, SAP Pakistan.

The goal of the business transformation project is to improve business insights, modernize business processes, and allow PTCL & Ufone to offer Cloud services.

S/4HANA and its underlying HANA database allow PTCL & Ufone to access data as needed and share it with the appropriate departments in close to real-time, greatly improving business processes and fostering more effective partner and customer collaboration.

Companies that use RISE with SAP can access new markets and business models more quickly, as well as expedite their digital transformation and innovation goals.

The improved business insight that ensures higher transparency while reducing duplication of effort aids in an organization’s ability to compete in the information age.

To date, in Pakistan’s corporate sector, this will be the biggest business transformation project on RISE with S/4HANA.

“We are honored to migrate PTCL and Ufone towards a new operational journey as the first mover in the region, which will ultimately become the footprint for advancement in the operations of Pakistan’s Telecom sector,” said Hatem Bamatraf, President and Group CEO, PTCL & Ufone.

Elaborating on the same, Asif Ahmad, Country Sales Head, IBM Pakistan, said, “Adoption of RISE with SAP will empower PTCL and Ufone to embrace new models of business, design internal and external resources and use the accuracy of AI for informed decision-making.”

The SAP S/4HANA landscape will be hosted on AWS, one of the top international Cloud service providers, at the request of PTCL and Ufone.

With more than a million users worldwide, AWS offers more than 200 Cloud services to reliably, securely, resiliently, and highly performantly host a variety of applications, including SAP.
