The upcoming 7th meeting of the apex committee of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is set to address key issues related to the Ministry of IT & Telecom in Pakistan.
Scheduled at the Prime Minister’s House and to be presided over by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, the meeting will cover five agenda points. These include updates on the National Cloud Policy and the establishment of Cloud Infrastructure, as well as discussions on potential investments by the Universal Service Fund.
The meeting will also address the longstanding issue of the return of USF & ICT R&D Funds to the Ministry of IT and Telecom. The Special Investment Facilitation Council has additionally requested updates from the Ministry on the formulation of Space Policy and Rules, as well as insights into the outcomes of a recent Saudi visit.
Furthermore, the State Bank of Pakistan will brief the council on the impact of enhancing export proceeds and retention limits for IT companies, along with updates on media campaigns related to IT initiatives undertaken by SBP.
