The formal unblocking of social media websites in Pakistan has been announced by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
According to a PTA official, social media networks have been reinstated as per instructions from the Ministry of Interior.
As a result, all internet service providers (ISPs) now provide Twitter and Facebook applications. This includes the web versions of them that can be accessed from desktops, laptops, and other gadgets.
While the mobile app seems to be working fine, at least on PTCL, the online version of YouTube is still having connectivity troubles.
It is important to note that it might take hours, or even up to 24 hours, to fully restore social networking networks.
This is mostly because blocking or unblocking methods take some time to spread over many exchanges, which makes it possible that certain users will not immediately be able to access and utilize social networking websites in Pakistan.
