A new look at children’s digital habits in Pakistan shows which apps and platforms young users spent the most time on during the first eight months of 2026. The findings, from cybersecurity firm Kaspersky, also flag growing concerns around online safety for this age group.

YouTube Leads Children’s Mobile App Usage

YouTube came out on top as the most-used app among children in Pakistan, making up 31.2% of usage. Instagram followed at 18.8%, and WhatsApp came in at 17.4%. Facebook took 10.8%, with TikTok rounding out the top five at 5.7%.

Multiplayer gaming platforms showed up too, with Roblox among the sites and apps children accessed on both smartphones and computers.

Online Safety Remains a Concern

Experts point to a range of risks here: phishing, online grooming, cyberbullying, and interactions with strangers on gaming and social platforms. Generative AI is adding a newer layer of concern as well, especially through manipulated images and videos, better known as deepfakes.
