In its 15-year journey, Zong 4G has emerged as a pivotal player in transforming Pakistan’s telecom landscape, with a remarkable impact on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). CPEC represents a significant collaboration between China and Pakistan, reshaping the socioeconomic dynamics of Pakistan while strengthening the bonds between the two nations.
As CPEC enters its 10th year, the progress achieved by China and Pakistan along this route is commendable. The initiative’s influence extends across various sectors, including trade, marketing, industry, construction, energy, agriculture, technological knowledge transfer, and education, promising prosperity and livelihoods for many.
Zong 4G, as Pakistan’s largest 4G network, has played a critical role in supporting CPEC’s continued success. With over 14,000 4G-enabled towers nationwide, it boasts the most extensive 4G network in Pakistan. Zong 4G’s cutting-edge high-speed data services have significantly improved digital access throughout the country.
Recognizing CPEC’s significance and the future of digital innovation, Zong 4G has extended its support to the Belt & Road initiative. Over the past decade, it has offered a range of services, including fixed line, mobility, and IoT/M2M solutions to back CPEC projects. To date, 18 projects have been completed, 10 are under construction, and 30 more are on the horizon, such as the SUKI KINARI Hydro-Power Project and the Rashakai Economic Zone.
A challenge in supporting CPEC projects lies in the remote locations where some of them are situated, lacking cellular coverage. However, Zong 4G, as the sole service provider in these areas, has ensured seamless connectivity through meticulous planning and execution.
